IT Support Engineer

Job Introduction

Role Purpose  

 

The purpose of the IT Support Engineer is to provide second-level IT support and analysis for all business-related hardware and software issues for the Store Support Office, Warehouse, Retail stores and our Field colleagues.    

Covering between the hours of 8am and 5.30 Monday to Friday (Staggered as agreed with your line manager) but some flexibility of working hours will be required. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Resolve laptop, desktop, tablet, and office equipment related issues where first level resolution by the service desk has not been possible. and facilitate first-time resolution where possible.  

  • Sourcing, implementation and management of all laptops, desktops, and tablet builds. 

  • Hardware and software installations. 

  • User administration and management, including the new starter/mover/leaver process.  

  • Assessment, procurement, and installation of new ad-hoc office equipment. 

  • Digital equipment support, including meeting room VC equipment. 

  • Mac OSX support and administration. 

  • Network equipment support, including switches, routers, and other networking equipment. 

  • Mitel phone and softphone (MiCollab) support. 

  • Equipment moves and relocations. 

  • Resolve technical issues where there is no initial resolution and manage through to completion. 

  • Asset management of all Carpetright IT equipment. This should include all SSO, Warehouse and mobile workers. To also include “In Home Consultants” tablets and phones. 

  • Provide support on internal projects as directed by the Group ICT Management. 

Person Specification 

Qualifications and Experience   

 

  • 2-3 years working in a front-line technical IT support environment.  

  • Windows OS knowledge, including Windows 10. 

  • MS Office 365 management and deployment. 

  • Experience with Active Directory (AD) and Group Policy (GPO). 

  • PowerShell scripting knowledge. 

  • WSUS knowledge. 

  • IT qualifications recommended. 

  • Microsoft Azure experience. 

  • Windows server experience
