THE OPPORTUNITY: BI Manager based in Purfleet, Essex/hybrid.
PURPOSE OF THE OPPORTUNITY:
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team of technology experts here at Carpetright.
You’ll be the technical and design lead on data management and security for all our projects whilst helping to develop the technical team’s skillset. You’ll act as the interface to integrate and optimise communication between different systems and software and deliver solutions in line with quality standards as defined by the business and enterprise architecture principles.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:
- You’ll have the demonstrated ability to provide platform roadmaps for short-, medium- and long-term projects/solutions as per business needs and technical feasibilities.
- You’ll work in close collaboration with the Technical and Solution Architects to ensure that the best solution can be presented to the Carpetright or our group company brands.
- Responsibility for writing assessment documents for workstream performance.
- You will of course keep key stakeholders informed on project or delivery progress at every step of the way.
- You will manage and/or contribute to proposal development.
- You’ll also manage or set the right structures to manage onshore/offshore dev teams.
ABOUT YOU:
- Substantial experience as a commercially astute BI Manager or similar technical lead position, within a retail environment would be our dream.
- You’ll have the ability to use DevOps work management to orchestrate and manage team workloads.
- Solid experience with building data platforms on cloud (Microsoft Azure Data Lake, Synapse, Fabric, Data Warehouse environment)
- You’ll be an expert in SQL writing in SQL Server/SQL Azure Data Warehouse
- You will definitely have strong technical understanding of data modelling, design and architecture principles and techniques across master data, transaction data and derived/analytic data.
- Experience in working across Product Technical teams, Business Market teams to realize their business needs through technology solutions.
- Experience in understanding Security, Nonfunctional, Infrastructure and Cost impact on the solutions.
- Experience in driving technical Solutions along with Product teams.
- You will possess the ability to understand and suggest global platform strategies in terms of multi-brand, multi-country rollouts.
- Experience in Microsoft Power BI development is a must.
- Experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 FO & CE and financials is definitely desirable.
- Previous inspirational team leadership is key.
