Warehouse Assistant

Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

Job Introduction

What is important to you in your next role?  Flexibility?  Variety?  Fun?  Competitive rewards?

You can have all of this and more at Carpetright.

We continue to exceed expectations and grow our business as we strive to remain the leading floor coverings provider in the UK.

Key to our success is our people who are, and always will be the heartbeat of our great company.

We’re looking for an exceptional Warehouse Assistant to join the Carpetright family and become part of something special, as we drive forward and look to the future.

How you’ll play your part

You’ll be a key player in the team, responsible for the smooth running of all things in the warehouse.  You’ll receive and handle deliveries to your store, ensuring safe storage and easy to find and access locations for when it’s time to see the products out - ready for the customer to collect, or dispatched with a fitter to be fitted at the customer’s home.

You’ll also be the expert when it comes to cutting carpet for those customers who want to purchase and takeaway on the day, from the stock we keep readily available (training will of course be provided).

What you’ll need

The key to success in this role is a passion for teamwork and delivering an exceptional customer experience.

We can teach you about our amazing products and services and how our delivery, storage and dispatch processes work with our market leading training.  What we’ll need from you is a professional and friendly approach and skills in organising, planning and preparing.  It’s likely that you’ll have worked in a similar role and are comfortable working in a busy, varied and physical working environment.

Other key requirements:

  • Well-disciplined around health and safety
  • Great communications skills and the ability to work well with a wider team
  • A penchant for tidiness and order
  • A forklift/boom truck licence (preferable but not essential)

What’s in it for me?

Working for Carpetright is like being part of one big family.  With market leading training and an attractive salary in place, this is a great opportunity to drive your career forward with a fantastic brand.

Next steps

Once you hit apply, you’ll be taken through a short questionnaire – this should only take you about 10 minutes. You’ll then be invited to upload a CV and from this point, our team will review your application in full and will be in touch.

Please note that if you are successful in this role, your first week will be fully committed to the first stage of your induction plan.  You will need to be available to work for 39 hours to complete this – if you are applying for a part time position you will of course be paid for the additional hours.

We hope to hear from you soon!
