Role Purpose

Through the provision of a high-quality, end to end, talent attraction and recruitment service, source great quality talent that enables the business to deliver its objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Attraction and recruitment of external talent

  • Utilise expertise to help design and deliver current and future recruitment and talent attraction strategies (including assessment methodologies)
  • Facilitate and lead key initiatives and projects requiring talent attraction and recruitment expertise
  • Identify routes to market ensuring we find and fit the right people for the right roles
  • Develop and manage the digital recruitment agenda, utilising various channels (e.g. social media, LinkedIn, internet, job boards) both standalone and via suppliers
  • Develop and manage assessment tools that enable objective filtering for right fit candidates
  • Develop and manage the onboarding process ensuring we meet legal requirements whilst giving the candidate a seamless experience
  • Ensure KPI’s are met, taking remedial action as necessary and leading the continuous improvement of attraction/recruitment critical metrics
  • Directly support the sourcing (including search and head-hunting activity) and selection of key/high profile retail hires and team members
  • Provide advice and support to stakeholders and other colleagues on the best methods of attraction and the recruitment process

 

Leading the team

  • Lead and manage the Talent Acquisition (TA) team
  • Support the TA team with day to day queries, candidate offers and assist with associated documentation
  • Develop the capability of the TA team, providing mentorship and guidance
  • Oversee and guide the TA Team in terms of daily tasks (e.g. designing and writing job adverts) and workload prioritisation
  • Ensure the team are organising and facilitating recruitment activities as required e.g. telephone screening, interviews, assessment centres

 

Talent Pipelining

  • Build awareness of what we are seeking in terms of high potential talent and establish where those candidates are in the external market
  • Conduct external talent pipelining and mapping activities to support leadership succession plans
  • Enthusiastically build and maintain talent pools of pre-screened candidates for various positions and geographic areas to reduce sourcing times on future searches

 

EVP & Communications

  • Develop and manage the Carpetright EVP
  • Develop and manage the Carpetright careers website
  • Showcase the Employer Brand/EVP through recruitment channels
  • Work closely with Internal Comms to find and publish stories that support the EVP
  • Communicate with the business (across various levels) regarding all recruitment activities

 

Monitoring, Reporting & Quality

  • Optimise recruitment spend (job boards, Agency PSL. LinkedIn etc.)
  • Manage suppliers to ensure fit for purpose product/service, ongoing quality and value for money
  • Produce, monitor and interpret MI to identify key trends and provide useful information to stakeholders
  • Evaluate and refine assessment mechanisms, ensuring they are delivering the right results
  • Regularly review recruitment approach and process with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Regularly review recruitment materials used for each vacancy, ensuring they are fit for purpose and being used consistently
  • Manage and develop the Applicant Tracking System, ensuring full use of system capabilities
  • Monitor the quality and quantity of the Talent Acquisition Team output (including the candidate experience) and use the information to refine performance at all points throughout the recruitment lifecycle

 

Miscellaneous

  • Partner with stakeholders to understand recruitment needs, gaining in-depth knowledge of the job specifications, qualifications, experience, skills and competencies required
  • Develop internal capabilities through the provision of tools/resources for hiring managers (including training)
  • Manage the PSL and, where needed, liaising with selected recruitment agencies
  • Manage the relationship with suppliers and vendors supporting the Talent Attraction and Recruitment strategies, processes and systems
  • Develop, optimize and manage recruitment vendor relationships, keeping utilization to a minimum
  • Provide interview coaching and training to line managers and internal candidates
  • Provide candidates with appropriate and constructive feedback where required
  • Assist with decision-making and placement of successful candidates

 

Person Specification

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Ideally, graduate calibre with strong educational background
  • At least 5 years’ experience in inhouse recruitment
  • Experience in leading and developing an internal recruitment function and team
  • Experience of implementing, managing and developing an ATS
  • Experience of implementing, managing and developing an EVP
