Stock Manager – Hard Flooring

Role Purpose

Management of the purchasing stock from Hard Flooring suppliers in-line with target cover levels whilst maximizing stock availability to customers and keeping held customer orders to a minimum.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Management of intake forecasts for Hard Flooring suppliers
  • Management of stock purchasing from Hard Flooring suppliers in line with the sales/intake forecasts
  • Ensuring optimum levels of Hard flooring warehouse stock to minimise write-offs and reduce cash tied-up in stock
  • Communicate with Hard Flooring suppliers to maximise availability and ensure efficient stock flows
  • Communication of stock availability to stores
  • Work closely with Hard Flooring Merchandising Team to ensure excellent availability for promotional activity
  • All Category ad-hoc analysis / reporting as

 

Person Specification

Qualifications and Experience  

 

  • Computer literate and comprehensively skilled in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, V/HLOOKUP, SUMIF(S), COUNTIF(S), INDEX+MATCH) with good understanding of other Microsoft Office software – essential
  • Experience of stock management in a setting where they are buying and selling in different units - essential
  • Experience of being responsible for a category/product area within stock control   - desirable

  • Able to manage own workload with strong organisational skills
  • Able to communicate effectively (verbal and written) with differing audiences at varying levels (e.g. line manager, stakeholders, project teams, buying and merchandising teams)
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Able to focus and concentrate on the task in hand
  • Positive attitude, willing to come on the journey of transformation over time

  • Successful management of category
  • Stock Control KPI’s meet set targets:
    • Availability
    • Back Order Management
    • Delivery Compliance
    • Managing of rems and discontinued stock
