Role Responsibility

Role Purpose

 

To support an efficient and timely post room & stationery supply service, ensuring that both are distributed and despatched in line with requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

 

Stationery:

  • Receive goods and verifying the contents from supplier’s delivery note
  • Count stock and record the inventory onto the MIS
  • Locate goods into the warehouse and note the details for entry onto the MIS
  • Identify damaged or missing goods and notify supervisor immediately
  • Pick and pack goods from the despatch note ready for onward delivery
  • Pack orders in an orderly manner and secure cartons so they are prepared for labelling and shipping
  • Always treat goods with care and concern
  • Stock checks each Quarter, Half year and Full year
  • Train and support new employees as required

Post:

  • Assist with the distribution of the post throughout the building
  • Prepare all outgoing post for collection by the Post Office
  • Organise the dispatch of documents, parcels etc by couriers
  • Monitor and keep secure all documents, parcels etc delivered by couriers
  • Manage and control the Franking Machine

Reception Support:

  • Answer all incoming calls via the switchboard and direct them to the relevant person/dept
  • Greet all visitors to Carpetright Purfleet ensuring that they sign in and notify the relevant person that their visitor has arrived
  • Monitor and control the issue and return of visitor access passes
  • Provide refreshment to visitors where necessary
  • To monitor the entry barrier in order to prevent unauthorised entry
  • To control access via reception to the offices and warehouse
  • When necessary, liaise with emergency services
  • Arrange for taxis when needed
  • Follow Company health and safety regulations
  • Any other duties as required by management.

Qualifications and experience

 

  • Previous experience of working in a Post Room Environment (desirable)
