Role Responsibility

Merchandiser - Purfleet, Essex

 

Role Purpose

The purpose of this role is to develop and maintain the Sales, Margin and Stock Budgets/Forecasts for the Flooring Categories.  To support the Buying teams to develop the Business, Range and Promotional plans required to achieve agreed targets.  You need to be highly analytical and be able to provide robust rationale to support trading decisions.  The ability to interpret complex data using advanced Microsoft Excel skills is essential for this role.  You need to be a team player who is passionate, driven to succeed and takes ownership of the category Budgets and Forecasts.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Analysis and reporting on performance versus Business Plan KPIs

 

  • Manage stock value and provide supplier forecasts to ensure supply is maintained

 

  • Own the Trade Plan and ensure that it supports your Divisional KPI’s.

 

  • Contribute to the development of the Business Plan for the Division.

 

  • Provide in depth trading analysis using a variety of systems to interpret complex data.

 

  • Produce value adding reports using advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

 

  • Ensure all Promotional Ticket POS is briefed on time to support in store activity.

 

  • Work with Buying/Supply Chain and Marketing to deliver new product launches on time.

 

  • Manage the impact of supplier rebates when planning promotions.

 

  • Provide Markdown analysis and proposals for exit lines.

 

  • Be highly organised, demonstrate good deadline management and prioritisation skills.

 

  • Be customer focused and relate trading decisions on how they will impact our customers. 

 

  • To deputise for the Head of Merchandising as required.

  • Delivery budgeted sales and margin targets

  • All reports to be produced in timely fashion and 100% accurate
  • Present findings from analysis to colleagues and senior management with confidence
