Financial Operations Manager

We are currently looking for a Financial Operations Manager to join our Finance team at Carpetright. This will be a key role within the function and you will have responsibility for leading the Accounts Payable & Receivables teams, including oversight of Procurement and Sales Ledgers.

Trading from over 300 stores and concessions in the UK as well as 120 stores across Holland, Belgium and the Republic of Ireland. A flavour of the key responsibilities:

  • Ensure all customer refunds, sales to cash reconciliation etc are performed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Lead, coach and motivate the teams and ensure they are appropriately trained, building a winning culture consistent with the values of the company and ensuring appropriate communication and goal setting
  • Assist in developing and improving processes and procedures within the areas of responsibility to improve the quality and quantity of output
  • Bring external best practice knowledge to the company and motivate the team to work at a pace and deliver excellent customer service across the Group
  • Manage and enhance the current process for insurance and finance sales ledgers
  • Manage the cash collection for sales ledger debts
  • Oversight and management of balance sheet reconciliations and controls in relation to AR and AP accounts
  • Preparation of year-end reporting and deliverables for external auditors as required.

What we are looking for:

  • Previous experience of leading a team in an AR and / or AP function
  • Prior experience in a supervisory role within a Finance function
  • Fully / Part Qualified AAT / ACCA / CIMA / ACA
  • Strong understanding of AP and AR processes, including stock accounting and movements and its interaction with purchases and their impact on the balance sheet
  • Ability to communicate with all areas of the business and have commercial approach to problem solving
  • Self-starter, ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
