Role Purpose

 

 

The Management Accountant is required to take ownership of several key areas of financial reporting and analysis whilst partnering with various heads of departments. Responsibilities will include Month End postings, assisting in budgeting & forecasting for fixed assets, management accounts preparation  and ad hoc financial analysis

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Maintain fixed assets systems and register to include disposals, impairments, acquisitions, additions, profit and loss and the posting of depreciation
  • Prepare monthly fixed asset from our ERP system to load into the reporting system
  • Maintain fixed asset WIP report in conjunction with project managers
  • Management commentary regarding variance for capital expenditure
  • Create and maintain register of capital projects
  • Review capital projects purchase orders as necessary
  • Complete project budget revisions/amendments as required by project managers
  • Review of monthly repairs and maintenance costs monthly to identify capital spends in conjunction with budget holders and to query posted transactions where necessary
  • Repairs and maintenance stores accruals and prepayments
  • Store costs allocation for Music services, forklift trucks repairs and maintenance, forklift trucks hire and container hire
  • Complete quarterly survey submission to Office for National Statistics (ONS) and Business Statistics Services for Capital expenditure for UK and ROI respectively
  • Update capex form with new vendors and store numbers as required
  • Assist project managers with project queries and resolution as required
  • Support the production of monthly management accounts
  • Detailed analysis & reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
  • Produce budgets and forecasts for specific store cost lines
  • Assist with Year End audits deliverables as required
  • System testing as and when required
  • Developing detailed financial models to help review key business drivers

 

 

Person Specification

 

Qualifications and Experience  

 

  • Part-qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA), AAT qualified or accounting Bachelor degree - essential
  • Working knowledge of double-entry book-keeping - essential
  • Experience of budgeting and stakeholder communication - essential
  • Intermediate Excel including SUMIFS, VLOOKUPS & pivot tables - essential
  • Experience of a multi-site retail/FMCG environment – desirable
